Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026
This policy explains what information Ponto de Ajuste collects when you visit pontodajuste.com, how it is used and what your rights are. Ponto de Ajuste is based in Brazil, so this policy follows Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018). This English version is a translation; if there is any difference, the Portuguese version prevails.
The party responsible for your data (the “controller”) is Ponto de Ajuste, reachable at contato@pontodajuste.com. That is also the channel for any request about your data.
1. What we collect
Reading the articles and using the calculators is free and requires no sign-up. The site does not ask for your name, ID number or phone number to browse.
- Browsing data: technical information collected automatically, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, reading time and approximate location.
- Newsletter email: only if you choose to subscribe and confirm through the link sent to your inbox. We use your email only to send the newsletter, and you can unsubscribe at any time through the link in every issue.
- Reader account (optional): to comment on and like articles, you can create an account with your email or with Google. We store your email (never shown on the site), the nickname and photo you choose, your comments and your likes. Your nickname, photo and comments are public on the articles.
- Contact messages: if you write to us, we keep the message and reply address only to handle your request.
2. Calculators
The values you type into the calculators (salary, expenses, investments) are processed in your own browser. They are not sent to us and are not stored on the site.
3. Why we use each piece of data (legal bases)
- Newsletter and measurement and advertising cookies: based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Reader account, comments and likes: to provide the service you asked for when creating the account.
- Site security (for example, the bot check at login and technical access logs): legitimate interest in protecting the site and its readers.
- Contact messages: to answer your request.
4. How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Reader account: while the account exists. When you delete your account, we immediately delete the login, profile, comments and likes.
- Comments removed by moderation: kept, hidden from the site, only to deal with reports and abuse, and may be permanently deleted at any time.
- Contact messages: for as long as needed to handle the request.
- Browsing data: for each tool’s retention period (up to 14 months in Google Analytics).
5. Cookies and third-party tools
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. On your first visit, the site asks whether you accept measurement and advertising cookies. Until you accept, they stay off. You can change your mind at any time in Cookie preferences (the link is also in the footer of every page).
We use third-party tools that may use them:
- Google Analytics: measures traffic in aggregate (how many people read an article, from which regions, on which devices). We do not use this data to identify you.
- Google AdSense: shows ads on the site. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalized advertising in Google Ad Settings. Learn more at How Google uses cookies in advertising.
- Meta Pixel: used only on a few invitation pages for our groups, when you arrive from a Facebook or Instagram ad. It measures whether the ad worked.
- Brevo: sends the newsletter and the login emails. It only receives your email address.
- Ko-fi and PayPal: if you choose to buy us a coffee, the payment happens on Ko-fi’s page and is processed by PayPal. We only receive the name and message you decide to share there.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: automatic bot check in the login window. It does not use advertising cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site keeps working, but some measurements and ads are no longer personalized.
6. Affiliate links
Some links lead to partner stores, such as Amazon, through affiliate programs. If you buy through these links, Ponto de Ajuste may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The stores use their own cookies to record the referral.
7. Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Cloudflare and every page uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Accounts, comments and likes are stored in Supabase, with access rules that prevent anyone from seeing another person’s email or changing what isn’t theirs.
International transfers: the services mentioned in this policy (Cloudflare, Supabase, Google, Brevo and Meta) may store and process data in other countries, such as the United States and European countries. Each company follows its own privacy policy and data protection terms.
8. Sharing
We do not sell or rent your data. It is only shared with the services listed above, as needed for the site to work, or when required by law.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to confirm whether we process your data, and request access, correction, deletion or the withdrawal of your consent (for example, leaving the newsletter). To do so, write to contato@pontodajuste.com. If you have a reader account, you can change your nickname or delete your account, with your comments and likes, at any time in My account.
We reply within 15 days. If you feel your request was not handled, you can also contact Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) or the data protection authority where you live.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the site gets new features. The date at the top of the page always shows the latest version.
